Change Concurrent License To Seat License

After installation QTP by default gives you 30 days of trial period (60 days for UFT12). If QTP already installed in that machine either it shows license expired message or it will check for concurrent license server if the previous installation used a concurrent license.

In this case you must have the valid concurrent license or a seat license extender. For this again you must modify your license type from concurrent to seat.

Follow below steps to modify seat to concurrent or concurrent to seat

Step1: Open "Run" dialog and type "Regedit". This will open registry editor
Step2: Navigate to below specified path in registry
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest Professional\Rainbow"
Step3: When you select Rainbow, in right side area there will be a key called "LicType". 
Step4: Double click on "LicType". A dialog box will be displayed

Now give the value 0 to change Concurrent to Seat License, 1 to change Seat to Concurrent.

Note:
Sometimes "Rainbow" key will not be there in this path. In this case search for Rainbow key in registry using Ctrl+f
